About Us
Sparklesoup LLC (formerly Sparklesoup Studios, Inc.), a nonpartisan publisher, was started October 2001 as a response to September 11, 2001's attack. The first book published for children dealing with the September 11 issue, Lucy and the Liberty Quilt (Gifted Girls Series) was published two months after September 11 and was quickly adopted into school curriculum. Lucy and the Liberty Quilt has since been recommended by PBS Kids and referenced by The School Mental Health Alliance.
Mission: A Dedication to Charities
Sparklesoup LLC makes a concerted effort to donate portions of the proceeds from book sales to charities known to be effective in contributing to the betterment of women, children, and the environment throughout the world. Among the charities Sparklesoup LLC have contributed to:
American Red Cross
UNICEF (Tsunami Relief Effort)
Battered Women and Children Shelters
Susan B. Komen Breast Cancer Research
Autism Speaks
Mission: A Dedication to People
Sparklesoup believes people come first. Although we may participate in big media events, we take as much pride in participating in small town events and not-so-high-profile events. As a small independent publisher, Sparklesoup is primarily a labor of love. As a small independent publisher, our goal is not to mass-market our books and products, but to bring a twist to the books - improve a genre, give it a twist, do something different. What is familiar is given a facelift - textbooks and thick how-to guides become simplified so even a middle-school child can read it, girls books that tackle mature subjects, books of short stories. Our books and gift items are meant to celebrate people and those important moments in people's lives. Our readers mean a lot to us, and we listen and have listened, made improvements base on reader's recommendations.
